I posted this last year, but I could not say it any better again this year, as we prepare for our 3rd annual fundraiser.
As we are preparing to kick off our Second Annual Stefan Pierson Memorial Tournament, I was thinking back on last year’s tournament and the highlights. For me, Stefan’s mom, it was seeing all of Stefan’s old teammates come together in his honor. To play hard, to share some laughs with old or new friends, to help someone in the midst of the battle of their life – these are all things that Stefan was passionate about and how he lived his life. It brought both tears and smiles to my face, and I thank everyone that made the tournament so successful.
If you come and play soccer, or come as a spectator, you will see many players that you played against or watched from the sideline of club soccer or high school soccer games, all playing on the pitch. Not only will you see competitive soccer, you will see and feel the camaraderie of teammates that shared many wins and defeats together, and also the camaraderie of a community playing to support a great cause.
The beautiful game for a deserving cause.
