1st Wish Trip was Kinda Funny

We are happy to acknowledge that Conquer The Day Foundation was able to grant our first wish trip this past December to James Nickerson, a young man dealing with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, complicated by coronary issues from birth. During chemotherapy, James discovered an on-line entertainment company, Kinda Funny, based in San Fransisco, which helped him through the difficult sessions.

James’ wish was to meet up with the Kinda Funny team at their studios and watch a live production, having grown to enjoy their videos regarding video game culture, television, and life. James was accompanied by his younger sister, Madeline, and the two were able to spend quality sibling time together, enjoying side trips to Alcatraz and Muir Woods.

After the trip, James wrote to us: “Thank you so much for a wonderful opportunity. Me and my sister had a blast.”

On the way back to Vermont, we were glad to be able to have James and Madeline meet up with their parents in New York City, to enjoy the Broadway play, “The Lion King,” before James’ subsequent medical consultations.

A warm-hearted thanks goes out to all the sponsors, donors and Conquer The Day volunteers, who helped make our first wish trip possible. With your support, we hope to have many more to follow.

Warm wishes to James and his family.
